Growing up attending The Greensville County Training School was rewarding as much as it was fun. The May Day Events, the dances on Friday afternoons in the cafeteria where many of the young men would save their quarters to impress the young ladies by buying them refreshments. And oh, the music.

The Greensville County Training School began in 1900 as a small three-room, wood-frame schoolhouse, led by three teachers: Georgia Kelly, Rev. J.H. Waller, and Principal Edward W. Wyatt.
